Quality is how capable a model reads the conversation. Detail is how much it writes about what it found. The difference matters.
Welcome allowances count daily slots admitted for generation, not confirmed DM deliveries. They reset at midnight UTC and use shared server credits. See the welcome setup and cost guide.
The meter
What a summary actually costs.
One credit is 35 characters of raw message content, rounded up per message. A summary costs the content credits it read, times the quality multiplier — never fewer than that quality’s minimum.

A 400-message catch-up on the default quality costs 400 credits — about 437 of them a month on Pro. Anything estimated above 3,000 credits asks you before it runs, and every completed action reports what it spent.

Plan, shared balance, your member safeguards, recent activity, and the renewal rule — one private reply, free, and anyone in the server can run it. It’s also where you apply a top-up you’ve bought.

Credits are fuel. A plan is entitlement.
A top-up never unlocks a quality tier, a longer read, presets, schedules, or live channels. And a pack you buy is held against your Discord account until you run /usage and apply it to a server — so buy first, then choose where it goes.
Questions
The things worth asking before you pay.
How do I pay?
Through Discord. Summary Bot is a Discord Premium App, so Discord handles payment, tax, receipts, renewals, and refunds — your card details never reach us. It also means you buy and cancel in the same place you already manage your other Discord purchases.
Is the subscription per person or per server?
Per server. One subscription covers everyone in that server, however many people use it, and the credits are a shared balance for the whole server.
What happens when I cancel?
You keep the plan until the end of the period you already paid for, then the server returns to trial-level features. Cancel in Discord — removing the bot from your server does not cancel the subscription.
Do unused credits roll over?
The monthly allowance does not — it refills at each renewal. Credits you bought as a top-up never expire and are only spent once the month's allowance is gone.
Can I buy credits instead of upgrading?
You can, and sometimes you should — but a top-up only adds fuel. It never unlocks a quality tier, a longer read, presets, schedules, or live channels. If you keep buying packs, the upgrade is cheaper, and we would rather tell you that than sell you packs.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds go through Discord under their policy. One-time top-ups are generally non-refundable except where the law says otherwise; subscription requests within five days of a charge may be considered case by case. Discord's current policy is what applies.
What if I go over?
Nothing breaks and nothing auto-charges. Requests stop, and you can top up, upgrade, wait for the renewal, or add your own API key as an overage path. You get warnings at 70%, 90%, and 100% first.
